CCA of Chung Cheng High

Chung Cheng High Main is an excellent Chinese school that have Chinese related CCAs (performing arts) that are related to Chinese as well.

The CCAs are Chinese Orchestra ,Wushu,Dance etc....
      For example,the long existing Chinese Orchrestra of CCHMS,,have won high awards and achievements that also made the school proud.The standard of the awards/achievements they achieved range from Silver-Gold with honour,or whether Distinction.
   Like the Chinese Orchrestra,the Dance,otherwise known as Chinese Dance in the past,has also achieved much and also made the school proud and famous for it.

Founded in 1939,Chung Cheng High School first began as an all-boys school at Kim Yan Road, admitting female students only after World War ll.

The school achieved top honours among Singapore schools in the first National Examination in 1946. To accommodate the increase in student population, Mr Lin Shi Wan, the Chairman of the Management Board, purchased a 14-acre plot of land at Goodman Road for a new campus. The school at Kim Yan Road became Chung Cheng High School(Branch) (renamed as Chung Cheng High (Yishun) in 2005).

Chung Cheng students were very actively involved in performing arts, in particular drama, since the early days. The completion of the Zhulin Building which houses the Grand Auditorium, helped consolidate its niche in this area.Zhulin Building was named after the founding Principal Dr Zhuang Zhulin.

The school song is in chinese and goes like this:

Overlooking the eastern shore of Singapore,
Gallantly stands the magnificent Chung Cheng of ours.

To achieve moral virtues and excellence.
With new knowledge and wisdom we seek
To constantly reinforce our confidence.

The school has a rich chinese culture and became the "Centre Of Excellence" for chinese in the year 2005.
The school offers both English and Chinese as first languages to preserve Chinese Culture and also other subjects such as Chinese Calligraphy,Chinese Tea Appreciation and "Appreciation Of Chinese Culture" as compulsory subjects for the students.

The school does well in their performing arts such as Dance,Wushu and Chinese Orchestra.
